Argentina

Last night’s Argentinian tasting could have been renamed a Mendoza tasting, were it not for a solitary bottle from Patagonia. Mendoza is the vast heartland of wine production in Argentina, so I think we are forgiven. The clear favourite of the night was Santa Luisa Syrah (£8.20), showing luscious notes of dark chocolate and cherry. The Cameleon Malbec Reserva (£13.50), a blend of 85% Malbec, 5% Syrah, 5% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon was also hugely popular, with subtle layers to the palate and long, long length.
