Lovely Gin

Last night we held our second hugely successful Gin tasting – thanks to all for coming along and making it a great night.

We started off with Darnley View, a Scottish gin from the banks of the Forth. Light and citrussy, with a touch of elderflower and a creamy texture. Next up was Brokers 47%, which is currently out of stock, but we hope to get it in again very soon. The juniper and notes of pine and saltiness distinguished this one. Then Sloanes, a Dutch gin. This was very creamy, almost sweet in texture. A popular choice around the room. The Botanist from Bruichladdich distillery had some wonderful botanicals, and Blackwoods was wam, spicy and minty – an excellent Scottish duo. The rogue wildcard was Rogue Spruce from Oregon, with overwhelming notes of cucumber and olives.
