Denuziere Viognier 2007 (VDP Colline Rhodanien)
This Vin de Pays lies just outside the spiritual home of the Viognier grape. The vineyard borders the area allowed to be included in the production of the famous Condrieu. This is excellent value as you don't get much Condrieu for under £20 these days. While, it doesn’t have the refinement of its illustrious neighbour, it beautifully expresses the fruit characteristics of Viognier. There are aromas of apricots with a hint of orange peel and despite these big sweet flavours carrying through to its middle section the finish is dry with nice acidity.
