Ca' del Matt Piemonte Cortese 2006

New Zealand winemaker Matt Thomson worked with the native Piemontese grape Cortese for seven vintages during the 1990s, and liked the results so much that he was keen to have a go again. Cortese is a delicate grape, so getting the desired results can drive a winemaker mad (or Matt, in Piemontese dialect). Matt may be a sucker for punishment, but he has certainly succeeded in producing a fresh and zesty dry white that is both delicious and modern.
