Chateau de l'Eclair Chenas 2006
A visually intense purple coloured wine. On the nose we find morello cherries and a generally delicate aroma. It also turns to vanilla and wooded notes which reinforce the soft perfumes. On the palate, there is more morello cherry as well as spicy notes. It will match meat served in a sauce and can be aged up to 10 years. Of the 12 appellations of Beaujolais, Chénas is the smallest cru of Beaujolais. It is
in the neighbourhood of the most prestigious wines such as Moulin à Vent, Saint
Amour and Juliénas. The name of this appellation comes from an old oak forest
(oak=chêne in french). The favourite wine of Louis XIII.
